Better showcase of Drupal websites on Drupal.org

Our current http://drupal.org/cases section is very sad. We should make it show off how awesome Drupal can be with pictures, how-tos, case studies, and more!

Absolutely! Acquia is handling this now with drupalshowcase.com, but this (IMHO) should really be run by the Druapl Association! This site should also do awards (like the blue drop awards that people are starting up)

Having a good showcase for the awesome sites is great. But please don't lose the ability for Joe User to post "Look what I just built" like we have with the current forum. I think it's important for people to be able to share their sites even if they aren't million dollar budget ones.

This is one I am working on! The feature is nearly built, and the plan is to get newbie sprinters to help with moving the best existing case studies to the new content type at Drupalcon Denver. (Of course, I probably need help with implementing where these should display on the site, etc)

Couldn´t there made a "content-type" which several sites can use for an easy to use "send to drupal.org"? Then the submission can be reviewed and integrated/imported into the "global showcase".
